The 2017 GM car VIN decoder is up, and lo and behold, the SS and Caprice are still listed. Engine options have not changed, though (so no LT1 for the SS).
Nothing else interesting at this point in time (no mention of a Camaro ZL1, for example).
All that being said, I’m not treating this as gospel yet, as this is pretty early for the decoder to be up, so it’s possible the inclusion of the SS and Caprice was a mistake (even though the correct model year digit is listed), hence my use of the qualifier ‘apparently’ in the post title.

EDIT: There IS something I forgot to mention, though I’m not sure anyone will care: The W-body is finally dead.

GM isn’t planning on shutting down Holden’s manufacturing plants until sometime next year, which is plenty long enough to cover MY 2017.

I know. Car & Driver seems to think the SS will get a 2nd Gen, but I haven’t seen any evidence of it.
